Top 10 University & Colleges in Australia 2019

37 of the world's best universities in the 2019 variant of this QS World University Rankings® are based in Australia, such as 15 in the worldwide top 250. Each college was ranked dependent on six indicators, including its standing among academics and graduate companies, as well as its research influence.

1. University of Newcastle

Up 10 locations to rate joint 214th in the world this season, the University of Newcastle was founded in 1965 and has its principal campus in the Callaghan suburb of Newcastle, New South Wales, and contains a full of 26,615 pupils at six campuses, including one in Singapore.

2. University of Technology, Sydney (UTS)

The University of Technology, Sydney also improved its worldwide rank this season, climbing 16 areas to rank joint 160th with Switzerland's University of Basel. UTS is among the youngest leading Australian universities, established in its current form in 1988.

3. University of Adelaide

Ranked 114th on the planet in 2019, the University of Adelaide was known for its inventions in a variety of regions of research by the research in Research Australia (ERA), a federal research evaluation framework performed by the Australian Research Council (ARC).

4. University of Western Australia (UWA)

Even the University of Western Australia, located in Perth, is two places to rate 91st on earth in 2019, achieving the strongest score out of the 10 best universities in Australia because of its percentage of global faculty members.

5. Monash University

Ranked joint 59th at the world with China's Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Monash University is mainly located in Melbourne but has five campuses in the state of Victoria and both abroad, in Malaysia and South Africa.

6. University of Queensland (UQ)

Next in our list of the best universities in Australia is that the University of Queensland, ranked 48th on earth in 2019. UQ is largely established in state capital Brisbane and has been responsible for a number of current research innovations, like the cervical cancer vaccine.

7. University of New South Wales (UNSW)

Even the University of New South Wales, situated in Sydney, retains its place of 45th at the World University Rankings in 2019, and it is currently a founding member of the Circle of Eight, a coalition of Australian research-intensive universities.

8. University of Sydney

Staying in Sydney, the University of Sydney climbed eight places to rank 42nd in the world in 2019, and will be the earliest of the top Australian universities (established in 1850). Sydney has been Australia's highest-ranked entrant in the QS Graduate Employability Rankings 2018 at fourth on the Planet.

9. University of Melbourne

Up two areas to rank 39th in the world, that the University of Melbourne achieved positions in the global top 20 for its standing with both academics and companies. The college has an extremely diverse student body, with nearly 40 percent of its own 50,270 students coming from outside Australia.

10. Australian National University (ANU) 

Continuing to rank among the very best Australian universities, Australian National University is ranked 24th on earth in 2019 and maintains among the country's greatest scores for study impact (citations per faculty member) and percent of worldwide student indicators.
